Tokyo Olympics: Hong Kong women advance to the semi-finals in table tennis; search for medals for swordsmen

The second week in Japan is starting and all eyes are on table tennis today, and both the men’s and women’s teams are in action.

Unfortunately, fencing is over, and the men’s film loses to Russia in the quarterfinals. Cheung Ka-long had already won gold, but he could not save the team when they were left behind.

Hong Kong got to fly in the women’s table tennis team competition and defeated Brazil in the 3-1 quarter-finals and held a quarter-final match against Romania tomorrow. Lee Ho-Ching and Minnie Soo Wai-yam took the first blood with a 3-0 win in doubles before top player Doo Hoi-kem added 2-0. Lee lost his draw, but Do won with his second win.

Other things to keep an eye on today are the men’s 100m final, men’s tennis gold, the last day of swimming when China plans to increase its medal draw, and the men’s final round of golf.
