Obituary | Donald Ralph Adamski, Sr. of Milton, Kentucky

Mr. Donald Ralph Adamski Sr., age 92, of Milton, Kentucky entered this life on January 17, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the loving son of the late Peter and Carrie Miller Adamski. He graduated in 1947 from Dupont Manuel High School in Louisville, Kentucky. Don enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on January 3, 1952 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He rose to the rank of Corporal serving during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on January 2, 1954 in Annapolis, Maryland receiving the National Defense Service Medal. He was united in marriage to Ethel Marie Gullion on September 9, 1961 in Bennington, Indiana. The happy union of these 52 years was blessed by a son, Donald, Jr. and a daughter Julie. He lived in Louisville, Kentucky until 1977 when he moved to Milton, Kentucky where he remained until he moved to Madison, Indiana in 2020. He is proud of the Kentucky Colonel, awarded to him by Governor Louie Nunn and a devout Republican. . He was a structural worker by trade with the Garst-Receveur Construction Company where he worked for 30 years until his retirement in 1995. After retirement, he worked for the Trimble County School system. He attended Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Milton, Kentucky. He was also a 60 -year charter member of Masonic Lodge No. 850 F. & AM in Louisville, Kentucky, and Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion. She enjoys making wood, reading, making crossword puzzles and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Don died on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, 3:00 pm at Jewel Place in Madison, Indiana.

A DEAR FAMILY Don will not miss his loving son Donald Adamski, Jr. and his wife Tami of Milton, Kentucky; his loving daughter, Julie Howerton and his wife, Tracy of Bedford, Kentucky; his beloved grandchildren, Cameron Adamski, Chandler Howerton, and Sydney Howerton; his two great grandchildren; his sister in law, Mary Ann Leap of Madison, Indiana, Barbara Jean Peelman of Vevay, Indiana; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He preceded the death of his father Peter Adamski, died in 1953, died his mother, Carrie Miller Adamski, 1994, brother, Peter Adamski, Jr., his loving wife of 52 years, Ethel Marie Gullion Adamski, died November 23, 2013, and his granddaughter Kelsi Lanae Barnes, died December 11, 2017.

FUNERAL CEREMONY services The funeral will be held Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at Morgan & Nay Funeral Center, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Next will be the interment at Vevay Cemetery, 800 East Main Street in Vevay, Indiana.

Guest friends can visit Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Morgan & Nay Funeral Center, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.

Military HONORSA’s final homage with military honor will be given by Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion.
