GALION-Galion High School won its first win in 2021 in girls ’tennis on Friday, August 13th. Lady Tigers (1-1) defeated Mansfield Senior in a non-league match at Heise Park.
Lydia McCabe earned a win in the first singles, wins 4-6, 6-0 (draw 10-1).
In the other singles, Keiah Coulter claimed a win in the straight series 7-5, 6-2.
Taylor Henry also won straight in her third single match 6-0, 6-0.
In the first duel, Emma Maguire and Emma Ross dropped a 4-6, 6-4 (10-12 draw breaker) decision to their Mansfield Senior colleagues.
No second doubles match was held.
Galion will open the Mid Ohio Athletic Conference on Tuesday, Aug. 17 at Marion Harding. The match time is 16.15
Lady Tigers will return home on Thursday, Aug. 19 to meet at Clear Fork’s MOAC in Heise Park. The match time is 5 p.m.
