Bruins winger David Pastrnak makes Czech hockey history with the latest honor

Legend of David Pastrnak only grew up last weekend as B’s shooter awarded with a golden hockey stick (or Zlat hockey in the Czech Republic) As the best hockey player in the Czech Republic in 2021.

Gaining the honor is nothing new to Pastrnak, but this latest victory was definitely noteworthy, as this was Pastrnak’s Fifth Consecutive Golden Hockey Stick, marking the first time a player has won a prize for five consecutive seasons since its introduction in 1969. crazy when you spot some previously award-winning peaks, namely Jaromir Jagrin, who has an all-time Golden Hockey Sticks all-time record.

But Pastrnak’s Fifth also lifted him to the all-time ranks of the prize scoreboard as he is now tied with Dominik Hasek for the most ever win, five.

This season, Pastrnak scored 492 points in the vote, elevating him to Lightning’s Ondrej Palat (472) and then-teammate David Krejc (338) ahead of those who voted the most. Like the voting process for most NHL awards, the award is voted on by representatives of the Czech Hockey Federation, national team coaches, members of the Czech Elite League team and sports journalists.

This Pastrnak’s latest victory came after a delayed season of injuries that scored 20 goals and 48 points in 48 regular season matches, as well as a post-season with seven goals and 15 points in 11 matches.
