Daniel Craig stars in the all-new James Bond ‘No Time to Die’ trailer

Life as a celebrity has many perks, especially boats full of cash.

But some celebrities insist that their offspring will not benefit from the inheritance.

James Bond actor Daniel Craig described the inheritance as “distasteful” earlier this week,

And he’s not the first high-profile celebrity to oppose giving their children a chance in life.

Music mogul Simon Cowell, celebrity chefs Gordon Ramsay and Nigella Lawson, as well as Elton John and David Furnish share the same strong opinion.

Here at Mirror Online, we take a look at the celebrities who have firm opinions about letting their kids leave their money.

Daniel Craig described Daniel’s inheritance as ‘distasteful’

Best known for his roles as the beloved secret agent 007 James Bond, actor Daniel has strong views on inheritance.

The Hollywood star stressed this week that he will not leave his money to his children because he believes the “inheritance is too distasteful”.

Daniel is worth millions and is rumored to have earned £18m for his latest role as Bond in this year’s No Time To Die.

But rather than funnel his money to his children, a three-year-old daughter he shares with wife and actress Rachel Weisz, and adult daughter Ella — from a previous marriage — Daniel said he’d rather spend his earnings or give them away.

Daniel is set to star in the new James Bond action No Time To Die in October

In an interview with Candice magazine, Daniel said, “Isn’t there an old saying that if you die a rich person, you fail?

“I think Andrew Carnegie gave away what would be in today’s money of about $11 billion, which shows how rich he is because I bet he kept some of it as well.

“But I don’t want to leave large sums to the next generation. I think the inheritance is very distasteful. My philosophy is: get rid of it or give it up before you go.”

Elton John and David Furnish Elton said he would not leave his entire fortune to his children

With over 250 million record sales worldwide, it’s not hard to imagine how rich the hit singer and songwriter Elton can be!

But while the fiery showman is notorious for splashing money on extravagant gifts and outrageous clothes, his sons Zachary, five, and Elijah, three, their famous father, are unlikely to survive. Well, if their thinking is to rely on Elton’s money anyway, that’s for sure.

Elton and her husband David had no intention of leaving their fortune to their children, and Rocketman hit maker Elton revealed it all in a compelling interview.

The 74-year-old admitted, “I live well. I love being surrounded by art and pictures. I love having my house filled with them, so I can get inspired when I wake up in the morning, so kids can get inspired.”

“Of course I want to leave my children in very good financial condition, but it is terrible to give children a silver spoon. It ruins their lives.”

He added, “Listen, boys live the most wonderful lives, they are not ordinary children, and I’m not pretending they are.

“But you have to have some semblance of normalcy, some respect for money, and some respect for work.”

Nigella Lawson Nigella Thinks Her Kids Don’t Have a “Silver Spoon” Upbringing

As the daughter of a former conservative advisor, Nigella definitely knows a thing or two about a privileged upbringing.

But the celebrity chef shares the same “tough love” attitude as fellow celebs Daniel, Elton and David.

Nigella was once worth a staggering £110m with ex-husband Charles Saatchi, but even after their acrimonious breakup, she is believed to have a few million stashed in the bank.

However, she is adamant that she will not leave her earnings to her offspring – and hopes that her children will learn from them to be successful in their own right.

“To know that I work and that you have to work to make money,” Nigella once said.

“I am determined that my children should not have any financial security. It destroys people who do not have to earn money.

Gordon Ramsay Gordon makes his kids fly in a “cattle class” to keep them grounded

The celebrity chef has revealed that he makes his kids fly in “cattle” class while he lives it in first class with his wife Tana.

TV star Gordon says the couple have a strict rule of thumb to make sure his kids are “down to earth and motivated”.

Gordon has a net worth of £46m, but perhaps surprisingly, the food he expects doesn’t allow his children to enjoy all the luxuries.

“When it comes to the holidays, I said to them, ‘Don’t you dare waste the money you pay for first class travel from here to New York – we all fly together, we all land together; think what you do with the money,'” he told The Sun exclusively.

Gordon Tilly’s daughter ventures into the life of a celebrity

“When they ask if they can show up to us for some delicious food, we say ‘No, you can’t,’ so now they’re taking their own picnics on the plane, and they’re totally fine with the economy.

“I mean, what does a 14-year-old need to sit in a reclining chair?”

“It’s very important for Tana and I to stay grounded and motivated.”

Simon Cowell wants to donate some of his massive fortune to charity

The master X-Factor is worth a staggering £440 million after the huge success of his hit TV shows and music acts.

His multimedia entertainment company Syco Entertainment is making profits, but that does not mean that his son Eric will inherit his father’s vast fortune.

Simon said he doesn’t believe in passing on fortunes to the next generation. Instead, he plans to donate his fortune to charity.

Speaking to The Mirror in 2013 before the birth of his beloved son, Simon revealed: “I’m going to leave my money to someone. Charity, probably – kids and dogs.

“I don’t believe in passing on from one generation to the next.”

“Your legacy should be that you gave enough people a chance, that they could do well, that you gave them your time, that you taught them what you know.”

Daniel Craig calls the inheritance “distasteful” and says his children won’t make Margot Robbie millions in going from making Sarnies on the Subway to the £7m Hollywood starlet.
