JK Dobbins leaves the Ravens season due to a knee injury

The Baltimore Ravens are running back JK Dobbins is expected to leave the 2021 period with an interrupted ACL.

“I’ve been on this road before,” Dobbins agent Zac Hiller tweeted as he retweeted the ESPN report of the injury. “He’s getting bigger back faster.”

Dobbins left the Ravens pre-season final in Washington on Saturday night in the middle of the first quarter after his injury, and coach John Harbaugh just said the former Ohio state star was rated. News Sunday is a blow to Baltimore that led to the NFL rushing last season.

Much of Ravens ’urgency has been due to quarterback Lamar Jackson, but Dobbins ran 805 yards and nine goals as a beginner last season. Gus Edwards, which ran 723 yards and six TDs, could now play a more important role.

Baltimore set an NFL record on Saturday with their 20th consecutive pre-season win, but this has not been an easy training camp for Ravens. Jackson and Edwards both stayed at the top of the camp after positive COVID-19 tests, and the team’s revamped host team has also had injury problems.

Dobbins ’injury is likely to raise more questions about whether key players are worth playing at all during the pre-season. But Dobbins had only three positions in the team’s first preseason game and four in the second. He had two on Saturday. The injury actually came when he was dealt with on a Jackson screen that made its own pre-season debut this year.

“All I know is that (Dobbins) is one of the toughest guys out there,” Hiller wrote on Twitter Saturday night. “No matter what it is, this is only year 2/20.”
