Junior Seidenfeld won the gold medal to defend defending Danish Peter Rosenmeier 3-0. He had previously lost to Rosenmeier in the first round of the game.
Both Seidenfelds have Pseudoachondroplasia, a hereditary disorder of bone growth, and compete in Class 6 for “players who are able to stand but have serious injuries to their arms and legs.”
“I respect Rosenmeier more than any Class 6 player and most Para players, so I took it into play – knowing he’s competing really hard. So I also had to compete really hard, ”the Asian Jewish athlete said.
“I couldn’t have dreamed of better,” he added.
“When he started playing table tennis, I knew he wanted to be good,” Mitchell said after the match. – And he has to face a lot of pressure because he had to become a gold medalist.
