Freeport Elementary School holds a ‘dress for success’ initiative for students

FREEPORT (WREX) Freeport Center Elementary School children were welcomed by some special guests on Tuesday!

Group of men wearing ties/business attire and giving high fives and fists to children as they enter school. The effort is called “50 Men in Ties,” although more than 50 men showed up to cheer on the children.

The lead pastor at CME Saint James Church said it was important to make sure children had role models they could follow.

“Because our children, especially our boys, they need someone they can see in a positive role,” said Rev. Marcellus Thomas, senior pastor at St. James CME.

The Center’s Primary School principal said every Tuesday, the school would hold an initiative to help students “dress for success.”
