Google’s John Mueller said it is technically possible to use the Knowledge Chart ID URL for the URL in the SameAs property, but it is not recommended. It is not recommended because the ID may change, so you will probably want to use URLs that are less likely to change than the Knowledge Graph ID.
The question was asked at 49:09 in last Friday’s video. The question was “Can we use google.com kg mid, essentially a specific URL type for knowledge graph entities, I believe, as the sameas schema.org property.”
John said “as far as I know you can do it” but later said “I don’t know if that’s a good idea”. Not a good idea because “the ID of the knowledge graph we have on our side may change over time”. Instead, use contact page URLs, the Wikipedia page about your company, or something more stable than what Google might use in its knowledge graph.
Here is the embedded video where he said this:
Here is the transcript:
We can use google.com kg mid, essentially a specific URL type for knowledge graph entities, I think, as the sameas schema.org property.
As far as I know, you can do it. I don’t know if that’s a good idea though. Because essentially the ID of the knowledge graph we have on our side may change over time and when you are looking at something like ownership in structured data, you really want to provide something that is stable. Something that always stays the same so that over time we can associate more and more things with it. And if you assign something that is generated by Google that could theoretically change over time, then it looks a little, I don’t know, flimsy and looks like something that could break over time. So as far as I know I would try to avoid doing this and instead would do something like point to your contact page or the home page of your website or a Wikipedia article about your company or something that is something more stable than the ID of the knowledge graph.
John was also asked about this comment on Twitter:
I’d ask @danbri before accepting too much of what I say about structured data – maybe it can help with a more official and complete answer on whether to use Google kgmid URLs for sameAs.

If we don’t mention it in our structured data papers, then this is a clue that it may not be a high-impact thing to focus on (albeit harmless)

We are not going into more detail on this currently
