Better Business Bureau of North Alabama Hosts FREE* Shredder/Drug Takeback/E-Recycling/Donation Event for Used Household Items – Athens State University

The Better Business Bureau of North Alabama is hosting a free* community event at Athens State University on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (entrance from Hobbs St.).

This event is offered to give local residents and small businesses the opportunity to protect identities and the environment in a quick and easy ride through setup. You don’t have to get out of your car. This is a contactless event.

The following services will be available:

• Shred Document – On-site document destruction for households or small businesses with a limit of 5 boxes or bags per car
• drug recall Athens police collect over-the-counter pills, patches, controlled substances and medicines for vets (no liquids or needles)
• Electronic recycling including desktops, laptops, tablets, gaming devices, computer towers, cables, cell phones, TVs (*$10 fee for each TV)
• Donations of used household items and clothing will be collected by Americas Thrift Store to benefit Make-A-Wish Alabama. Donation vouchers available.
