Steph Curry from Andrew Wiggins: “We obviously need him there”
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) –Golden State Warriors striker Andrew Wiggins has received his COVID-19 vaccine and can play in any game.
According to the Warriors, coach Steve Kerr informed reporters on Sunday after training, before the team traveled to Portland to play their first game of the pre-season.
Wiggins faced the opportunity not to get into the Golden State home at the Chase Center for games starting Oct. 13 when the San Francisco Department of Public Health begins demanding a certificate of vaccination for large indoor events.
On Monday media day, Wiggins had said he would stick to his beliefs about the vaccine, but stated: The back is definitely against the wall, but I’m just going to fight for what I believe. I am going to fight for what I think is right. What is right for one is not right for another and vice versa.
The NBA said it reviewed and rejected Wiggins ’request for religious exemption and that he could not play in the Warriors’ home games until he has fulfilled his vaccination role. All 12-year-olds and older must present proof of vaccination to attend Chase Center interiors, and this post is on the Warriors website for fans.
Wiggins declined to explain what these beliefs really contained, saying: It’s not your business, it’s about.
He lost more than $ 350,000 per game, and if he hadn’t played any home games, he would have given up half of his $ 31.6 million salary.
That’s my problem, not yours, he said.
Starting his eighth NBA season, 26-year-old Wiggins averaged 18.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.0 blocks last season.
The Warriors ’first regular season game will be played on October 21 against the Los Angeles Clippers.
