UK-based fintech Mode launched an Open Banking payment and Bitcoin rewards solution in partnership with e-commerce technology company THG.
Originally slated for a 12-month rollout starting at the end of Q3 2021, Mode’s integration into THG has been accelerated and Mode can be found on all THG brands at checkout. THG brands include Lookfantastic, Myprotein, and The-Hut.com.
UK customers will have the option to build up a stake in Bitcoin via Mode’s QR code-based cardless payment method which allows buyers to make instant payments and reward them with Bitcoin Cashback, after purchase through the Mode application.
Mode has also launched a payment feature for buyers who do not have the app, which leverages Open Banking technology to also allow them to make seamless payments through their bank account and instantly earn Bitcoin Cashback at brands. THG. THG buyers who check out with Mode for the first time will receive 10% cashback in Bitcoin. Existing customers will receive 5% for new and repeat purchases.
