Jerusalem crickets are a relatively large cricket with a large head and fairly large lower jaws (teeth). Since their teeth are solid compared to most other circuses, it is not surprising that Jerusalem crickets are able to produce a small but noticeable bite from time to time if they feel they are in danger or need to defend themselves.

Are Jerusalem crickets aggressive?

These crickets are not aggressive, and if left alone or left untreated, they choose to escape and inevitably attack and bite. They are non-toxic and unable to produce any toxins, so they do not inject or produce toxic chemical compounds if they are disturbed or threatened. These crickets are not dangerous, although they have a gloomy appearance.

Painful bites

Jerusalem crickets are not prone to biting and just want to be left alone, but if they are not given the opportunity to withdraw when threatened, they can cause a bite that usually results in moderate but short-term pain.
