Nebraska will return to Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon to begin a two-game home game in Lincoln. The Huskers will host Purdue boiler manufacturers in the Battle of Big Ten West, and the start will begin shortly after 2:30 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN2 and heard on the Huskers radio network.

Nebraska will start in exactly a week and start the home game of the season, which includes three of Lincoln’s last four matches. Nebraska will participate in the Purdue game with an overall score of 3-5, including a 1-4 chip in the Big Ten game, after a 30-23 loss to Minnesota on October 16th. The Huskers rose from a 12-point deficit, but were unable to convert several red-zone opportunities into road setbacks. Each of Nebraska’s five losses this season has become eight or fewer points.

Purdue leaves for Lincoln with a 4-3 overall score, including a 2-2 chip in Big Ten. Purdue’s last three games have matched a tough Big Ten West section from Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin. The highlight of the Purdue run was the dominant victory 24-7 at the time-Well. 2 Iowa on October 16, pushing boiler manufacturers into national rankings before Wisconsin lost at home on Saturday afternoon.

Coach Jeff Brohm’s team has one of the most advanced defense units in the country. Purdue allows a total of 301.6 yards and only 16.3 points per game in the top four in both categories. Offensively, the Boilermakers once again have one of the best passing attacks in the nation, averaging 317.6 yards per game in the air, second in Big Ten and 12th nationally. Recipient David Bell ranks sixth nationwide when he receives docks per match 118.7 yards per race, including a 240-yard effort in Iowa.

Series History: Nebraska vs. Purdue

Nebraska and Purdue will face Saturday for the tenth time and the ninth time as opponents of Big Ten. Nebraska owns Series 5-4, including a 2-1 Lincoln advantage.

• This is the ninth consecutive season that the Huskers have met Purdue, including the last eight years with both schools in the Big Ten West Division.

• Before the first meeting after Nebraska joined Big Ten, the schools had played only once before, winning the 28-0 Purdue in 1958.

• Nebraska’s win over Purdue last season was December 5, marking Huskers ’first regular season win in December since 1992.

• Nebraska held Purdu minus-2 yards in last year’s game, the lowest of Nebraska’s opponent’s seven seasons.

20 – Close finish Austin Allen there are six 20-yard or higher receptions this season, including five in the last two games of receptions. His six 20+ yards of catch lead to all the tight ends of the Big Ten. He is among the top three in Big Ten’s tight ends in receptions, matches per match, yards per catch and overall reception points.

18 – Corner piece Cam Taylor-Britt has played his best football in the last two weeks and made a total of 18 matches. Taylor-Britt also has an abduction, three assists, two TFL games and a sack during the last two games.
