What kind of weather to expect

CINCINNATI – Tri-State trick-or-treaters are always at the mercy of Mother Nature when it comes to packing good weather. At this time of year, the weather there can be terrifying or delightful.

The 9th First Warning Weather Team is monitoring a weather system that will bring rain to the Tri-State on Thursday and Friday, but clear up early on Saturday.

High pressures are expected to retreat over the Ohio River Valley bringing dry, seasonal weather just in time for little ghosts, goblins and witches to go door to door for Halloween treats!

Halloween forecast: bright and seasonal peaking at 61.

Here’s the trick-or-treat outlook by the hour.

• 4 p.m. — 61 degrees
• 5:00 p.m. — 58 degrees
• 18:00 — 56 degrees
• 7 p.m. — 55 degrees
• 8pm — 54 degrees

October’s climate data places Cincinnati in the lower 60s for daytime highs and in the lower 40s for nighttime lows on average.

In case you’re wondering, last year’s Halloween was also dry, but cooler. The peak was 57.

The year before, in 2019, it was soggy with .80″ of rain and a maximum of 58.
