The Long Beach Poly girls tennis team has defied all odds this season. After finishing third in the Moore League, they have been in tears of the playoffs. They have used their talent and perseverance to help them succeed against even the most powerful opponents.

This talent was fully featured on Monday afternoon when Poly won the Carpinteria 16-2 CIF Southern Section Division 4 semi-finals. The win brought Jackrabbit’s ticket back to the semifinals, a place they haven’t reached since 2018.

“We only have a really good team this year,” Polyn coach Douglas Schlueter said after the match. – Our team is really starting to play together, that’s the biggest thing. It really starts to show what it takes to play together and what happens when you play together. “

The Jackrabbits were successful in all aspects of the game this afternoon. The leader was single player Julia Sutedjo. In addition to winning all three of his matches, Sutedjo’s victories were convincing and dominant. Sutedjo used his sharp hand and strong technique to take him to a 6-0 score in his two matches as he lost just one game in the entire day.
