Infiniti founder Zia Chisti has resigned as CEO of the American software company after a former employee accused her of sexually assaulting and beating her.

The board of directors of Infiniti, Ltd. (Afiniti) announces that Mr. Zia Chishti has resigned from his functions as President, CEO and Director of Infiniti, with immediate effect. The board will make additional organizational announcements in the coming days, Afiniti said in a statement posted on its website, without further details.

Tatiana Spottiswoode, who joined Afiniti at the age of 23 in 2016, told the US House Judiciary Committee that Chisti had pressured her into having sex with him and assaulted her, provoking ” bruising and concussion symptoms ”.

According to her, the Pakistani-American entrepreneur invited her on a ski trip designed to prepare me.

Chishti then urged her to join Afiniti for good career growth prospects, Spottiswoode said, adding that she signed a contract with the company which included an arbitration agreement with a strong confidentiality clause.

In her testimony, she claimed that Chishti had humiliated her in front of other employees in Dubai by grabbing her offensively.

I felt completely trapped and desperate, didn’t want to lose my job, didn’t want him to get angry more, she said, alleging he had beaten her while he was having sex. .

She said she suffered “bruises” around her neck and a “lump” on her head during the alleged incident.

But Chishti, 50, denied the accusation, saying he deeply supports women in the workplace.

It is one of my priorities to make sure they do their best. As a result, these allegations are particularly hurtful, he said, according to The New York Times.

Shortly after Spottiswoodes testified, former UK Prime Minister David Cameron, who joined Afiniti as head of its advisory board in 2019, announced he would be leaving the company.
