The 2021 NFL Division’s power investments begin in Week 12: AFC North stays on top while NFC North falls to new lows

The second unpredictable week took place in the NFL, although at this point in the season, chaos should be predictable. The Houston Texans and Minnesota Vikings caused even more disruption in Week 11 by defeating teams that made at least four more wins a week than they did during the year. Eight such wins have been made this season, and it has been leveled out in the 1974 campaign (eight), where teams have won the most from an opponent with at least four wins in the 11th week.

Since Week 9, teams with a payout percentage of 0.500 or less have won 11 times against division leaders. Most such gains have been achieved in the single seasons of weeks 9-11 since the 1970 unification. leveled the division in recent weeks, this week the divisions in the divisions did not mix much.

For at least a week, the divisions remained at a normal pace. This season is progressing, it won’t stay the same as the league heads to Thanksgiving.

8. NFC North

Last week’s ranking: 8

The shocking Minnesota Vikings of the Green Bay Packers certainly showed that Green Bay is not escaping this poor division – it actually has two teams in the NFC playoffs for 11 weeks. NFC North has the Chicago Bears (five losers in a row) and the Detroit Lions (hasn’t won a single game all year), keeping them last among the divisions.

It didn’t help that Chicago dropped out of Baltimore without their starting defender and the best wide receiver, and Detroit actually got a worse quarterback game in week 11 than in previous weeks. NFC North is the league’s worst 11-19-1 in out-of-division games (.371) and 16-24-1 (.402) in overall results. If this division didn’t have Aaron Rodgers …

7. AFC East

Last week’s ranking: 7

The Buffalo Bills knocked out by the Indianapolis Colts didn’t help this division show why it should rise this week, even though the division’s leading New England Patriots shut down the Atlanta Falcons. The Miami Dolphins ’three wins in a row have helped this division stay competitive, but AFC East just isn’t good enough to compete with the rest of the league at this point.

Buffalo will play to the championship potential and New England, which continues to rise as a playoff challenger, could take this division in the last seven weeks. AFC East is 12-16 in matches between divisions (.429) and 19-23 in the overall standings (.452).

6. AFC South

Last week’s ranking: 6

The Houston Texans beat the division’s lead Tennessee Titans, which was a shock of the year – and in fact helped the division show that it’s more than super heavy. Houston and Jacksonville Jaguars are still in the draw at the AFC’s worst record, hurting the strength of the division’s top half.

Colts ’explosive victory over Bills showed AFC South has two strong teams, both of which could be challenging for deep playoffs. Indianapolis will be tested with the leaders of three divisions over the next four games – a stretch that could elevate this division in the rankings.

AFC South is only 11-17 in out-of-division matches (.393) and 18-24 (.429) in the overall standings.

5. NFC South

Last week’s ranking: 4

The loss of two matches to NFC East opponents in week 11 means NFC South will remain in the free fall. The Philadelphia Eagles knocked out the New Orleans Saints and the Washington Football Team defeated the Carolina Panthers. At least the division-leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers handled the New York Giants.

This division currently has the Buccaneers and Saints in the playoffs, but the situation could change with all of New Orleans ’injuries. The Atlanta Falcons have lost in consecutive games, which has not boosted the division’s strength among its conference peers.

This division is losing Tampa Bay at this point, while the other three are just fighting to be 0.500 or better. NFC South is 16-15 in inter-divisional games (.516) and 21-20 in total (.512).

4. NFC East

Last week’s ranking: 5

Although the Dallas Cowboys lost to the Kansas City Chiefs, NFC East deserves to jump into NFC South after the Eagles beat the Saints and Washington shocked Carolina. Both games were played at home for Philadelphia and Washington, but the wins were impressive for a division that may have competing teams other than Dallas.

The Giants have lost a thing at this point and don’t seem to be helping this division any time soon. NFC East could stay in the top four if Washington and Philadelphia can continue their strong play on the field. Dallas ’second winning streak will help as well.

NFC East is 16-19 in out-of-division matches (.457) and 19-22 in total (.463) under three teams. 500. It doesn’t look like there are three teams under 0.500 that the Eagles and Washington have played in this month.

3. NFC West

Last week’s ranking: 3

NFC West are holding the pitch this week, mainly because the division had only one out-of-division match (the San Francisco 49ers crushed the Jacksonville Jaguars). Within the division, the Arizona Cardinals easily managed the Seattle Seahawks on the road with a substitute defender (Colt McCoy) and without their top pitcher (DeAndre Hopkins).

Arizona is the best team in the NFC that is sure to keep this division at the forefront of conferences. San Francisco’s rise back to the playoffs makes this division even stronger despite the struggles in Seattle. NFC West may still get three teams in the next season.

NFC West are in the 17-10 division matches (.630, best in the NFL) and 24-17 overall (.585).

2. AFC West

Last week’s ranking: 2

Kansas City, which took care of Dallas in the battle for division leaders, certainly showed the strength of AFC West, a division that had a strong week. The Los Angeles Chargers won the thriller against the Pittsburgh Steelers at its best, showing a heavyweight battle for the division between two conference candidates over the past seven weeks – a huge plus for AFC West.

The Las Vegas Raiders are in free fall after losing to Cincinnati Bengals at home, but are still at 0.500. This is one of two divisions where each team is 0.500 or better. AFC West is 19-14 in out-of-division matches (.576) and 23-18 (.561) in the overall standings.

1. AFC North

Last week’s ranking: 1

For the second week, AFC North will remain at the forefront after a strong performance in the division. The division-leading Ravens defeated Bears on the road without a starting game builder and top-of-the-line receiver, while the Bengals handled the Raiders on the road.

Cleveland Browns struggled against the Detroit Lions at home, but the win is a win in the NFL. The only loss in the division was for Steelers, which rose in the fourth quarter against Chargers to take the lead late. This split could have easily gone 4-0 this week.

AFC North is starting to pull off the pitch. The division is the league with the best in the 20-12-1 inter-division matches (.621) and the overall score is 24-16-1 (.598) – the best NFL win percentage. Each team is over .500 in AFC North, making this division easily the best in football.
