Cowboys WR Depth Chart: Michael Gallup, Cedrick Wilson for Added Roles on Thanksgiving

Amari Cooper misses her second game due to a positive COVID test. This drops one of the Cowboys ’top two receivers.

Meanwhile, CeeDee Lamb is suffering from a concussion. However, he was restricted from training on Wednesday, so he only needs an independent neurologist to get to the field.

Still, it’s not a guarantee. And if Lamb can’t play, Dallas will start some receivers that are talented but may not be familiar to ordinary NFL fans.

The Cowboys have one of the best receiving forces in the NFL when they are healthy. Even with Amari Cooper against the Raiders, their depth is solid enough. Things can go awry if CeeDee Lamb can’t play, but they still have four receivers that have proven to be quality players during their NFL careers.

1. CeeDee Lamb

If Lamb survives the concussion protocol, he will be the clear number one on the Cowboys against the Raiders. That means he’s likely to get the attention of Casey Hayward, Las Vegas ’best cover photographer.

Lamb leads the Cowboys this season with 740 yards received and 50 catches. He also has six receiving TDs. He’s Dak Prescott’s favorite destination and one of the NFL’s finest young recipients. He is the real number one option in this attack and will get a lot of goals if he can play on Thanksgiving.

2. Michael Gallup

Gallup has been a somewhat forgotten man in this Cowboys attack, having missed about half of the Dallas season and has only appeared in three matches so far. The fourth-year passcatcher saw the season record catch (5), goals (10) and reception yards (44) last week with the Chiefs with Cooper (COVID) and Lambin (concussion protocol) leaving the game early.

During his career, Gallup has driven an average of 15.2 yards per catch and had 1,107 yards in 2019. The 6-1 receiver is a good threat on the field and will continue to see additional features as a true second player in Cooper’s absence. And if Lamb can’t play, he’s a No. 1 goal.

3. Cedrick Wilson

The Cowboys were fine in Gallup’s absence because Wilson performed well in his place. Wilson has played in 10 matches and collected 316 reception yards and three touchdowns in 23 snapshots. He’s been number 3, and he hasn’t always seen a lot of goals – he’s seen 34, which is the team’s sixth most – but he’s broken some big games.

Wilson has also thrown random passes this season and has completed both of his attempts at 57 yards. Dallas will definitely try to get the ball in their hands at least a few times. He drives an average of 13.7 yards per reception, making the team the second best only for Lamb among players who have received 10 or more receptions this season.

4. Noah Brown

Brown has become a Cowboys quality depth player this year. He has only scored eight assists this season, but has collected 117 yards. The 6-2,225-pound receiver is a versatile backup that is both physical and can also act as an underwater threat.

Brown will take action when Cooper leaves. He has played 28 percent of offensive starting passes this year and has served as the 4th recipient for most of the year due to Gallup’s injury.

5. Malik Turner

Turner grabbed five of seven goals in 35 yards and two touchdowns in the Cowboys defeat to the Broncos. His production came largely in rubbish time, but he represents another large-scale recipient who is able to catch controversial catches and is larger than most defensive backs.

6. Simi Fehoko

Fehoko have played just four starting passes this season. She has not yet been targeted and has not been active since week 3. He could dress if Lamb couldn’t play, but a fifth-round newcomer would just be an emergency depth option in that situation.
