Beavers ’historic season ends in a draw against Clemson

CORVALLIS, cast iron. – No. The historic season for the 1-seed Oregon State men’s soccer team ended after it leveled 1-1 with Clemson 1-1 and crashed in a 4-3 penalty shootout at Lorenz Field on Saturday. Oregon State ended the season with a 14-2-4 (7-1-2 Pac-12) record, highlighted through its first Pac-12 title and appearance in the program history of the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight. Beavers gathered a record crowd for their final home game of the fall, with 1,415 fans in attendance.

Junior Sofiane Djeffal put Beaversin on the pitch after 29 minutes and found a goal for Redshirt senior Tsiki Ntsabeleng’s angle. OSU’s defense kept Clemson on goal until 84 minutes, when Tigers scored in PK. During the game, Beavers allowed Clemson only three shots per goal out of 12 shots.

Junior Adrian Fernandez earned two fights and Orange and Black scored six shots to a total of 22 shots and scored ten corner kicks throughout the game.

Djeffal, junior Gael Gibert, and freshman Nicklas Lund changed their penalty kick, but Clemson got ahead and made all four attempts.
