“We certainly didn’t get our phones back, I hope,” she told broadcasters Martin Lewis and Susanna Reed. “The only thing we had to watch was Netflix, no news, no family connection, nothing.

“We spent a day in the castle, not knowing where we were going, what was going to happen,” added Phillips. “We were taken to separate houses, and given some food. For me, that was a blessing [disguise]. It was strange to be in seclusion.”

While they weren’t able to use social media, Phillips revealed they were allowed to spruce up their looks, noting that she got a little off-camera hair makeover.

“For me, it was great because I was able to make my roots,” she laughed. “When we got back to the castle, we immediately got down to the work required. It’s really hard, I’ve prepared myself for it, but it’s harder than you think… It’s non-stop.

“It’s the adventure of a lifetime, it really is.”
