Joe Buck suggested Donald Parham shivered while stretched because of the cold in Los Angeles

[ad_1]

It was a scary scene in the first quarter of Thursday night’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers, when Donald Parham sustained a serious head injury after hitting his head on the turf. The game was delayed a few minutes, and Parham stretched out on the field while shaking his arms. The Chargers released an update, stating that Parham is “currently undergoing tests, imaging and testing for head injury at UCLA Harbor Medical Center and is in stable condition.”

Well, after saying that “the last thing we’re going to do is think about any injury, especially that kind,” Fox play-by-play guy Joe Buck went on to think in a weird statement:

“Let me just add it- it’s very cold, at least by Los Angeles standards, down on the field. I hope that’s more of an issue than anything. “

Buck took to Twitter for his comment. In addition, the Fox broadcast made things more uncomfortable by zooming in on Parham, and that too has reaped a lot of criticism.

Here is a sampling of the reaction:

LISTEN: Donald Parham Jr. is in the hospital with a brain/spinal cord injury. Joe Buck said he would never think about an injury, then speculated that DP’s arm tremor was bc “cold tonight, at least by Los Angeles standards.”

Ladies and gentlemen, find out the minimum for sports broadcasting. pic.twitter.com/s3RbdE0ouO

We don’t think about injuries. Let us think about an injury.

I’m not going to speculate about what the reporters think, but it’s possible Joe Bucks that maybe he’s cold explanation for a traumatic brain injury is an attempt to prevent viewers from thinking about how serious the sport we want for the human brain.

Did Joe Buck really just think Donald Parhams arms were shaking because he was getting cold

Joe Bucks ’comments about Donald Parham can be cold as an explanation for why he was shaking while retreating is ridiculous. Especially since he said you don’t want to think about injuries.

Fox insisted on handling that brutal injury.

Joe Buck: We don’t want to think about an injury of this nature

Joe Buck after 4 seconds: it was a bit cold for Los Angeles so maybe that’s why the man was shaking because of the serious head injury. He was probably just shivering because LA was getting cold right now

TE chargers are clearly unconscious in the field and the Fox cameraman is standing over him like Undertaker, good dude

FOX seems too slow to realize Parham’s state of coma.

He quickly had a concussion zoom in on his face – producer for Fox

Ts and Ps to Parham

For FOX to show Donald Parham, Jr. seizing the sideline on the stretcher is offensive. That was a HORRIBLE production decision right there. #KCvsLAC
