Denver Broncos QB Teddy Bridgewater was discharged from hospital and assigned to concussion protocol

Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was released from Denver District Hospital on Monday morning and is well, the team announced.

Bridgewater will be in the NFL concussion protocol, the team said.

The veteran quarterback suffered an injury while diving into the first landing at 5:34 in the third quarter and the Broncos faced a second and 5 of their own 30-yard lines against Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. He landed face down on the field and did not move at first.

Broncos’ medical staff held Bridgewater’s head as it turned him around and fastened him to the back plate before lifting him off the field in carts.

Bridgewater, who baited 12/22 98 yards on Sunday, has started all 14 Broncos games. He left Denver for a week 4 loss to the Baltimore Ravens just before halftime, also due to a concussion.

Bridgewater did not play in the second half of the match, but played against Pittsburgh Steelers the following week. The eighth-year veteran had made the best 18 touchdowns of his career this season and was ready to set the best passing yard of one season.

Drew Lock replaced Bengals 9-3 in the Bridgewater quarterback after the Broncos. Lock fed 6/12 88 yards and one touchdown in Denver’s 15-10 loss.
