GOP Group Calls Trump Enablers In Congress By Name In Scathing Fox News Ad

[ad_1]

A conservative group is calling on GOP lawmakers for failing to respond to former President Donald Trump for the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol perpetrated by his supporters.

The new ad from the Republican Accountability Project, scheduled to air on Fox News on the first anniversary of the attack, focuses on five lawmakers who harshly criticized Trump last year, but because they changed their tone or fell silent.

“They told the truth then. Why don’t they want it now? ” the text on the screen reads after clips featuring comments by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Sen. Lindsey Graham (RS.C.) and Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.):

The venue is set to run during “Fox & Friends,” “Hannity” and “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Thursday. The Republican Accountability Project runs ads targeting Trump-enabled party members, complete with an online “Hall of Shame” of 13 lawmakers who “actively invented and disseminated lies, misinformation and conspiracy theories.”

The group is also looking to support key challengers to those legislators.
