Happy Friday everyone. There is a lot of talk about Alabama’s underdog status on Monday.
Metchie is not the only injury Alabama is dealing with. The Crimson Tide is currently dealing injuries to attacking commanders Emil Ekiyor Jr. and Chris Owens. A key reason for Alabama’s success in December was the performance of the offensive line. They didn’t fire Bryce Young. The status of both players is unclear as we approach game day, but Georgia’s defense can certainly take advantage of the line’s weak links.
On the Georgian side, it must be well off for its performance against Michigan in the semifinals. Georgia was absolutely dominant, but the most important excerpt from this game is the performance of quarterback Stetson Bennett.
Dial recalls using “yummy rat poison” in 2009. Players repeatedly heard Tim Tebowin in Florida was “the biggest crime ever to enter a college football field.” They heard it and assured themselves that it was not true.
“We thought it was a joke,” Dial said. “Like ‘we can’t wait to get out to kick their asses.’
The Alabama offensive line probably found a similar motivation last month after hearing from all fronts how unhindered Georgia is. Hopefully, despite Atlanta’s 17-point win, staying below will provide extra fuel.
The mattress mogul has bet on the tide as protection against promotion.
Mattress Mack said Georgia (-3) in his early favorites got his attention and created a campaign in his Alabama-affiliated stores.
“We’ve done a lot of these promotions in the past and we wanted to be involved in a game with so much attention,” McIngvale told ESPN. “[I] was surprised to see Alabama as a 3-point underdog. They have a good sense of name and brand awareness for fans, so it has a good, high perceived value. Anyone who buys a mattress before the game will get their money back if Alabama wins. “
This is nice because many of those mattresses won’t be returned if that happens, at least in Alabama.
Mack bet $ 1.2 million on the money line, which means he chose Alabama to win. His win is $ 1.5 million if Alabama wins, which means he avoided the three-point pad to get a 25% higher potential win.
At least one SEC coordinator is very impressed with Jameson Williams.
“It all depends on what the Alabama attack manifests,” the SEC coach said. – Is it the one who played against Auburn or the one who played against Georgia last? It looks like the quarterback is getting better and better and they have a talented defender.
Greater emphasis on the running game behind an improving line of attack could also make sense as Metchie leaves. But Williams, who had 184 reception yards and two touchdowns in the SEC championship, remains at the center of the Young and Alabama attack.
“He’s the best in college football, and I don’t know it’s close,” the SEC coordinator said. “She is [incredibly] quickly. She is so good. He is special. “
It’s still amazing to think that Williams left Ohio State because he probably didn’t start. Most of every sketch makes him go ahead of the guys who started him.
Alabama players believe that a losing streak hanging over Georgia’s head doesn’t matter much to Alabama.
“They’re going to play their best game, and we’re playing,” Mathis said. “So I really don’t think about all the things of the past. I’m just serious about what’s ahead of us now. I really can’t talk about the past things we’ve done against those guys. Now is the new year, the new team we’re playing on.
Alabama wide receiver Jameson Williams received seven catches of 187 yards and two touchdowns in the SEC championship victory against a Georgian team that had given up its 12 regular season games in defense for a total of just seven touchdowns.
“… I feel like there’s a lot of pressure on both teams,” Williams said. “Those guys have a lot of pressure to get“ W. ”We have a lot of pressure to win the team twice.
That may be the case, but there is one man in the visor who is very aware of it, whether he spoke or not. And yes, that guy is copying Alabama.
Shortly after Shane Beamer was hired as a Smart staff in Georgia in 2016, she noticed something familiar with the way her new boss built the program.
“We implemented literally everything Alabama did, from a weekly schedule with coaches to a training schedule and a weight room program,” said Beamer, now South Carolina’s head coach. “It was identical. He didn’t have to say, ‘This is what Alabama did.’ You knew it. Many of the goods we used even had the Alabama logo, and it was copied and pasted with the Georgian logo. “
For the Bulldogs, imitating Alabama was not only the most sincere form of flattery, but it was the most effective way to try to catch up with the greatest dynasty of the modern era of sport.
So that no Georgia fan will try to argue about this again, there is your proof.
Dan Wetzel points out that Georgia has run out of excuses.
The dryness of the title is almost incomprehensible. Georgia has and has had everything it needs to win multiple titles. It just isn’t.
What’s worse for Bulldog fans is that while their team didn’t win it, almost everyone around them has won. Competitors in the state or border state — teams formed by neighbors, co-workers, or cousins — have dominated the sport.
Alabama (7 national titles), Clemson (3), Florida (3), State of Florida (3), Auburn (1), Tennessee (1) and even Georgia Tech (1) have all won everything.
That piece of Georgia Tech is stingy. Speaking of Georgia Tech, the recent transfer of Jahmyr Gibbs has turned heads.
Jahmyr Gibbs will be training in Alabama this week after moving from Georgia Tech. He works for “good for good,” and the source said he gives defenses.
“He’s a freak,” the source said.

Pete Golding describes what makes Will Anderson so hard to block.
“I’m talking about when you go to hit a block and they come out of the ball and I’m going to use my hands – five touch points to hit him and hit him back,” he explained. “He’s so explosive with his legs, hips and hands that he can separate, then detach and get up from the boys and start playing.
“What I mean by that, he hits and gets his head back, and then he resigns and he can go to the play.”
We are very happy that he is ours.
Lastly, AJC is especially cozy right now.
Jeff Sentell: Three combined touchdowns from George Pickens and Brock Bowers
Why: You need your best players to play in the red area in this game. Alabama is trying to limit what these two talented pitchers can do, but Bowers and Pickens ’ability to beat the Bulldogs.
Connor Riley: Nolan Smith gets 2.0 sacks
Why: This is just as bold as Georgia didn’t kick Bryce Young once this season and the junior outfield has 2.5 sacks this season. But Smith has been at his best in Georgia’s biggest wins this season against Florida and Michigan. Smith made his feelings about this game clear and maybe he will get tears of joy after this performance.
What is the biggest “weakness” of the Alabama football team that the UGA must take advantage of in Indianapolis?
Brandon Adams: Lack of running game
Why: “Crimson Tide clearly found a rather busy attack on their playoff victory against Cincinnati – collecting 301 yards on the ground. However, Alabama was only 10th in the SEC in running yards per game this season. If UGA can take the running game, it will make controlling Bryce Young and Jameson Williams much easier.
Call me stupid, but if Alabama made this game and Bryce Young won the Heisman for himself in 10th place despite the running game, it might not matter much here. It amazes me that a major news channel sponsors this sign of homerism. You certainly won’t see anything similar in the Alabama media.
That’s it for today. Happy weekend.
Roll Tide.
