WASHINGTON CITY – Three of the four lanes of Interstate 15 northbound were blocked off Green Springs Drive Monday morning after a pickup truck crashed into the off-ramp barrier and overturned.
Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Lars Gardner told St. George News that a white Chevy pickup struck the airbag on the left side of Exit 10 around 9 a.m. and then rolled over.
“This was a reckless driving incident. The driver hit the attenuator and rolled over, ”Gardner said, noting that no other vehicle was involved and the driver was the sole occupant of the truck.
All lanes of traffic except the expressway were blocked as a result of the crash, causing a setback of about a tenth of a mile.
The crash was resolved at 9:50 a.m. and Gardner said the driver was transported from the site to St. George’s Regional Hospital.
