Davi Paris Men Fall 2022 – WWD

Davide Marello investigates the underworld of a homosexual brothel in the early 20’s–century Paris, frequented by figures such as Marcel Proust.

Expanding on the floral print — taken from the original painting — on which he builds his designs, he works with animal patterns, aiming to give the collection a more sensual quality, in a melancholic palette of black, brown, khaki and cream with a hint of moody purple.

She sprinkled this into her canvas stitching and statement tweed coat, smoothing out the silhouette with a liquid viscose shirt with polo neckline and shadow vegetal print, knotted or knitted scarf with cat stripes in jacquard merino and translucent mohair.

By injecting romance into classic masculine outfits, Marello offers a distinctive signature to the men’s fashion space, and this brooding collection with its darker narrative gives the aesthetic an added dose of substance.
