We’ll bring you the latest updates as the Kingsway Tunnel is partially closed and all traffic on the M56 has been stopped.
Traffic was stopped from entering the Wallasey Tunnel at around 3.30pm due to emergency repairs taking place.
Queues are building in the city center with INRIX reporting “heavy traffic” in the area.

All traffic has also been stopped on the M56 eastbound between junctions 10 A49 Tarporley Road (Stretton) and J9 M6 J20 (Lymm Interchange).
Traffic first began being held at 2.55pm on Thursday, February 17.
