Has there ever been a more dominating defensive lineman than Aaron Donald? Fresh off winning last year’s Super Bowl, the Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman has once again been named a member of this year’s Madden 99 Club. As such, he will start off the Madden 23 campaign with a 99 overall, the highest possible rating in the game.
Donald is the reigning NFL AP Defensive Player of the Year and is coming off a 2021 season in which he recorded 12.5 sacks.
Just to give you an idea of how long he’s been doing this, Donald has recorded double digit sacks every season since 2017. In his career, he has 98 sacks, including a season high of 20.5 back in 2018.
Donald is a three time NFL AP Defensive Player of the Year and an eight time Pro Bowler. He’s been a First Team All-Pro every season since 2015.
Suffice to say, Aaron Donald is well deserving of his 99 overall rating in Madden.

With Madden Ratings Week now complete, it looks like there are a total of four players in this year’s 99 Club. Donald is joined by Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams, Cleveland Browns RE Myles Garrett and San Francisco 49ers Tackle Trent Williams. This year’s 99 Club is much smaller than we’ve seen in previous years, but there are a few players on the cusp such as Cooper Kupp (WR, Rams), Jalen Ramsey (CB, Rams), Travis Kelce (TE, Chiefs) and Zack Martin (RG, Cowboys).
