Three Longhorns Medal on Day 1 of Phillips 66 National Championships

IRVINE, Calif. – Three Longhorns medal on day one of the 2022 Phillips 66 National Championships at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center.

David Johnston posted a six-second personal-best time in the 1500m free final with a time of 15:02.37 to bring home the silver medal for the final event of the day.

Cole Crane got the podium Appearances started for the Longhorns with a third-place finish in the 200m butterfly A final with his time of 1:56.75.

Shaine Casas finished third in the 100m free final, just .02 seconds off a three-way tie for first. Casas posted a time of 48.46, while Daniel Krueger finished fifth at 48.89. Luke Hobson took second in the 100m freestyle B final with a time of 48.89.

The competition continues Wednesday morning at 11 am (CT) in the 200m free prelims.
