Nigerian singer Oladapo Oyebanji popularly known as Dbanj has called on the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Crimes Commission (ICPC) to conduct its investigation thoroughly while urging the general public to resist the urge to buy media sensationalism.

He lamented that the media was inundated with reports of his detention by the ICPC over unsubstantiated fraud allegations.

He said it had become crucial to issue a statement for clarity and to get the public records straight.

This was contained in a statement released Wednesday by Maryam El-Yakub Musa, Dbanj’s legal adviser.

Recall that the ICPC confirmed on Wednesday the arrest and detention of DBanj, as part of the investigation into fraud associated with the N-Power program.

However, Dbanj said he had no contractual or incidental relationship with any group or people inside or outside of government.

Part of the statement reads: It is instructive to state first and foremost that the report regarding the arrest and detention of Mr. Daniel Oladapo Oyebanjo is ill-conceived, malicious and harmful to the justice system everywhere, and we advise the general public to be well guided.

For the record, Dbanj has no such contractual or collateral relationship with any group or persons within or outside of government with respect to disbursement, operations, access to, or control over the operation of any government funds through an agency or its affiliates.

Dbanj encouraged the Commission to investigate thoroughly to ensure that the characters who attempt to drag him into such ridiculous activities are brought to justice.
