Liverpool players have been seen enjoying a team bonding session in the Dubai desert as they prepare for the Premier League resumption.

The Reds have taken part in a warm-weather training camp in the United Arab Emirates and were beaten 3-1 by Olympique Lyonnais in the Dubai Super Cup earlier this week before Jurgen Klopps face AC Milan on Friday.

Despite the loss, it looks like the Liverpool squad have had plenty of time to regroup, with some of their star players heading to the desert to explore the dunes and even ride camels.

Their star winger Mohamed Salah posted a couple of hilarious clips on Instagram of teammates Naby Keita and James Milner riding a camel.

In the video, the 36-year-old laughs hilariously at Ketia’s shocked reaction when the camel stands up with the couple.

Liverpool have particularly struggled with injuries in their midfield this season, with TheGuinea midfielder sidelined for much of the season with a soft tissue injury.

But it looks like he could be back in fighting form for the rest of the season after making a 30-minute cameo during their defeat to Lyon.

Salah, who scored six goals in 14 games this season, also posted a group photo on his Instagram where the team stood on top of a sand dune in the middle of the desert and it looks like there is a great spirit among the players.

And while there appears to have been plenty of time to enjoy time off, it hasn’t all been time off, with Joel Matip insisting their warm-weather training camp has helped them “focus” on the rest of the season.

Matip talked about his trip to Dubai while speaking the club’s website: ‘It was something different. It’s really nice to get some sun as well and spend time with the team to get their heads fully into the game and prepare everything that needs to be done.

– It’s not the same, but in Germany we’re used to taking a winter break, but of course it’s not that long. [It’s been good] for recharging the batteries and concentrating. It’s something nice.

Liverpool travel to the Etihad Stadium on December 22 to face league rivals Manchester City in a huge Carabao Cup third-round clash that Matip says he is “ready for”.

“We are ready, but we still have time,” he said. – We want to use this time every second and every time we get on the field [try to] get well.’

The Christmas run of fixtures begins after Klopp’s side travel to Birmingham to face Aston Villa on Boxing Day, before playing Leicester at home four days later.

And the Reds’ trip won’t be made there as they open their 2023 schedule with a trip to London against Brentford.

Durability is the top priority during that time and Matip suggests the Reds have worked “everything” during their time in Dubai.

‘I think it is [a bit of] everything,” he said when asked what they had been doing in practice. “Of course we have to exercise, but during the break you already did something for yourself.

“So you had the foundation to go straight with the ball, but we’re also working together as a team to improve our style and get back to what makes us strong.”
