Chelsea Hockey went fifth in a row

After a couple of tough losses, the Chelsea hockey team has seen their offense kick it into high gear to help the Bulldogs bounce back with five straight wins to improve to 10-3 overall on the season.

The Bulldogs are averaging nearly nine goals per game during their five-game hitting streak, and the defense has allowed just over one goal per game during that stretch.

Chelsea recorded three impressive victories this week, outscoring their opponents 28-1 in those three victories, all of which were shortened by mercy.

The Bulldogs opened the week with an 8-0 shutout of Ann Arbor Pioneer on Wednesday night.

Chelsea took a 4-0 lead with goals from Keegan Montgomery, Drew Sherwood, Jake Singer and Nathan Sobiechowski.

They continued to pile on in the second period with a goal by Jack Roberts followed by a power play goal by Devin McIntyre and the Montgomerys took the second of the game to a 7-0 lead after two. Brandon Davila ended the game with a goal early in the third.

McIntyre added two assists to become Chelsea’s all-time leading scorer with 183 points, passing the late Drew Brown.

The Bulldogs made short work of Walled Lake Northern Friday night, winning 9-1.

Roberts had a hat trick and three assists in a big six-point night to lead the Bulldogs.

McIntyre added two goals, while Sherwood, JP Chinavare, Hayden Westcott and Davila each had one.

Montgomery had three assists and Davila had two, while Kyle Valik, McLaughlin and McIntyre each had one. Tristan Cooper made 19 saves for the Bulldogs.

Chelsea was all over Ann Arbor Huron on Saturday night, rolling over the River Rats 11-0.

Roberts had another monster game with his five goals leading Chelsea.

Davila had a pair of goals, while Jacob Corcoran, Gavin James, Steve Cattell and Lucas Milne each had one goal.
