[ad_1]

|Thursday night is here again, and NFL fans everywhere are asking themselves one important question.

Is there a “Thursday Night Football” game tonight?

Even if fans complain about the lower quality of the NFL’s Thursday night games, it still beats the alternative of having to wait until the weekend to watch the games live.

Unfortunately, that’s exactly what NFL fans will have to do when the divisional round of the 2023 NFL playoffs arrives.

Here’s everything we know about the NFL’s postseason schedule and when “TNF” will return to our screens.

Is there a “ThursdayNight Football” game tonight?

No, there is no “Thursday Night Football” game this week. The program has ended for the season and will not return until the 2023 regular season.

The NFL does not play Thursday night games in Week 18 or during the NFL playoffs to avoid forcing teams to play on a short week. This can often create a competitive disadvantage for the more injury-plagued team, while the team that wins the contest would earn a competitive advantage with extra rest before their next playoff game.

The last Thursday night game of the year was in Week 17 on December 29, when the Cowboys beat the Titans 27-13. Tennessee rested many of its key players, including Derrick Henry, in preparation for a crucial Week 18 matchup with the Jaguars.

The remaining NFL games in the post-2023 season will be played on either Saturday or Sunday; “Monday Night Football” is also out for the season after the Cowboys beat the Buccaneers 31-14 in their wild-card game over the weekend.
