Notre Dame football: CJ Carr’s secret recruiting?

Notre Dame football got arguably its most important prospect in the 2024 class very early; he seems to be as locked down as possible. Like Drayk Bowen last year and Blake Fisher in years past, CJ Carr recruits his classmates hard. Not many know he has an inside track, thanks Pylon 7on7 Soccer.

Let’s say you haven’t heard of 7-on-7 football yet. In that case, it’s basically a way for top receivers, defensive backs, quarterbacks and others to show off their stuff in the offseason. It is an aerial attack-focused competition with a shortened field and 24 players per team. In this particular case, CJ Carr is in Tacoma, Washington with his team for a tournament hosted by Pylon 7on7. In fact, Carr posted Instagram photos of himself and others at the stadium and even donned a Washington Huskies outfit (no worries).

If Carr has a solid performance, which I assume he will, it will only benefit everyone involved and possibly the Notre Dame football program as well. Top destinations in Ireland Ryan Wingo, Jeremiah McClellanand Terrance Moore are on his team. McClellan attends the same school that produced Notre Dame football’s best offensive lineman, Jeremiah Love. Love has a solid connection with McClellan, which is remarkable.

Love and McClellan aren’t the only ones from the area, as Ryan Wingo is also from St. Louis, Missouri. The 5-star wide receiver is recruiting hard at numerous schools, but still seems to value Notre Dame football. Will CJ Carr convince him that joining forces in South Bend is the move? Time will tell, but if they build a solid connection in these 7-on-7 tournaments, it bodes well for the college connection as well.

It’s no secret that Carr does a lot of recruiting on social media, such as his current pursuit of Justin Scott to lead the Irish defense. However, he is just as good a recruiter behind the scenes as he is on social media. Let’s see if he has any idea about this weekend.
