London’s Metropolitan Police announced Friday that a British soldier has been charged with terrorist and explosive offences.
Police said Daniel Abid Khalifa, 21, of Beaconside, Stafford, has been charged following an investigation by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command, over two incidents in Staffordshire in August 2021 and earlier this month.
Khalifa was charged with eliciting or attempting to elicit “information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism,” in August 2021 and placing an article “with intent to create in another belief that the material is likely to explode or ignite and thereby cause personal injury or property damage.” on or before January 2, according to the Met.
Mitt said he is now in police custody and is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on January 28.
