Lakers: Darvin Ham offers rare criticism of inconsistent officiating in Celtics game – All Lakers

It was a brutal and frustrating Saturday night for the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers lost a close game to rivals Boston Celtics in overtime, 125-121.

It wasn’t a walk in the park for the purple and gold as everyone can’t seem to stop talking about the sloppy no-call by head referee Eric Lewis.

After the game, head coach Darvin Ham couldn’t help but vent his frustration with the referees.

“I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but even if you try not to put it on the referee it gets harder and harder. There’s a lot of things we could have done better in this game, but for the most part we played our behinds, played the right way, played together, stayed aggressive…and it’s a shame the game ended on a play like this. no favoritism, you just ask for consistency.

This isn’t the first time this has happened to the Lakers; heck, this isn’t even the third time this has happened to the Lakers. This is the FOURTH time a referee’s non-call has impacted the end of a Lakers game, and they’ve all resulted in a loss.

Lewis, the main referee, later admitted there had been contact, and he and the team missed the game.

We all saw LeBron James’ frustration immediately after the game, and later told the media, “It’s hard. I don’t understand.”

Anthony Davis simply called the non-calls “unacceptable”.

The NBA and its umpires need to do a better job of judging these in-game calls, and please, for God’s sake, stop posting reports from the last two minutes. It doesn’t help anyone and only makes fans and teams even more frustrated.
