LAHORE (Web Desk) – Former Pakistani captain Misbahul Haq has expressed his disappointment with recent speculation surrounding Babar Azam’s captaincy.

Speaking to reporters in Lahore, Misbah criticized how Babar had been targeted and stressed the importance of carefully assessing situations before making changes. “It doesn’t matter who the captain is, a change should only be made after a thorough assessment of things. Decisions should not be made just to put pressure on others,” he said.

The former head coach also pointed out that comparing Babar to Indian batsman Virat Kohli is unfair as Kohli has much more experience in international cricket. Misbah suggested that the two players should only be compared once they have played an equal amount of cricket.

Misbah praised Babar’s consistency and placed him among Pakistan’s greatest drummers. He also noted that Babar is consistently ranked among the top five players in the world. However, Misbah acknowledged that Babar was not solely responsible for Pakistan’s poor Test performance and that there were planning and team selection issues.
