Nepalese police won table tennis gold

Nepal Police Club won the women’s team event gold in the fifth Samjhana Cup International Table Tennis Championship at the National Table Tennis Training Center in Lainchauri.

Police recorded a 3-0 win over Kantipur Valley Ping Pong Club. In doubles, Polices duo Manju Suwal and Elina Maharjan met the challenge of Swechhan Nembang and Rabina Maharjans, 11-9, 11-6, 11-9. In singles, Nabita Shrestha defeated Diya Deula 11-4, 11-5, 11-8. In the other singles, Elina beat Rabina 11-4, 3-11, 5-11, 11-4, 11-7.

Dillibazar Table Tennis’s Indira Paudel Parajuli secured the top spot in the women’s veterans over 40 singles. He beat Samjhana Pokharel of the same club 11-6, 11-5, 11-4. Lagankheli’s Hira Devi Nakarmi and Gyan Bhairavi’s Sabita Basnet were adjudged joint bronze medalists.

Organized by Lalitpur District Table Tennis Club, the tournament is sponsored by Samjhana Laboratory Private Limited.
