Donald Trump Cozies up to Alexandre Arnault at Mar-a-Lago

Donald Trump hosted Alexandre Arnault and his wife at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. Trump documented the dinner in an adoring Truth Social post Wednesday night. He called Arnault a “moving boy” and praised his father, LVMH chief Bernard Arnault. Loading Something is loading.

Former President Donald Trump is comfortable with the scion of one of the world’s richest families hosting Alexandre Arnault, son of LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault, at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

“Wonderful to have Alex Arnault of LVMH, and his wonderful wife, Graldine, for dinner at Mar-a-Lago,” Trump posted on Truth Social on Wednesday. He did not specify when the dinner was.

“He is a young man on the move, the son of one of the great businessmen and leaders in Europe, and the World,” Trump wrote of Arnault, who is 30 years old.

In his post, Trump also wrote that “Alex is excited about Tiffany’s reopening.”

“This will be a truly amazing renovation, and will lead Tiffany into a new Era of amazing Success and Growth!” said Trump.

The company’s flagship Fifth Avenue store in New York City is a stone’s throw from Trump Tower. It is under renovation and is scheduled to open in the first half of 2023.

Alexandre Arnault is an executive vice president at Tiffany & Co., part of his father’s business empire. He is the third oldest of Bernard Arnault’s five children, and his siblings also hold senior roles in other LVMH companies.

Arnault did not post about his visit to Mar-a-Lago on Instagram or Twitter. In his wife Graldine Guyot-Arnault’s most recent Instagram post, the couple showed off celebrating Valentine’s Day in New York City.

It’s unclear why Trump decided to host Arnault and his wife at Mar-a-Lago this week, or why they went. Trump said in his Truth Social post that the two were “celebrating the deal we made at the former Nike Store on East 57th Street and Fifth Avenue.”

That’s likely a reference to how Nike in 2017 left the East 57th Street space run by the Trump Organization. Forbes reported in June 2022 that Tiffany has taken over the former Nike store space, and is likely paying rent to the Trump Organization while it waits for renovations on its flagship store to be completed.

Trump’s fondness for Tiffany & Co. is well documented. He named his youngest daughter, Tiffany Trump, after the store.

Trump also wrote about how fascinated he was by Tiffany & Co.’s flagship store. in his 1987 book, “The Art of the Deal,” describing it as “the site I’ve had the most fun” in Manhattan.

A spokesman for Trump and Arnault’s representatives at Tiffany & Co. did not immediately respond to Insider’s requests for comment.
