Raleigh, NC – Did you miss the action in Saturday’s NHL Stadium Series game? Monday night is another chance to witness outdoor hockey at Carter-Finley Stadium.

A handful of youth hockey teams hit the ice all day Monday in open skates.

The Carolina Hurricanes Alumni Game kicked off at 4 p.m. The team’s annual alumni game brought back players from past teams as the franchise celebrates its 25th season with a game played at Carter-Finley Stadium in North Carolina.

The Canes alumni and fan teams are captained by Rod BrindAmour and Justin Williams. Participating alumni include Bates Battaglia, Jesse Boulerice, Tim Brent, Erik Cole, Mike Commodore, Jeff Daniels, Tim Gleason, Sean Hill, Chad LaRose, Steve Rice, Aaron Ward, Cam Ward and Shane Willis.

Before the game, there was an autograph session in the East Concourse starting at 2:30 p.m. The event is free for fans, but donations to the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation are welcome at the door.

At 7 p.m., the NC State Icepack took over at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There was no cost to participate.

For both events, fans should approach via Gate B (Trinity Road) or Westchase Boulevard. Parking is available for $10 and fans can enter the stadium at gates 8 and 9.

Local tourism officials say the NHL Stadium Series game was a big win for Raleigh and Wake County.

More than 56,000 fans packed into Carter-Finley on Saturday night to watch the Hurricanes and Washington Capitals. The Canes sent them home satisfied with a 4-1 win.

About half the crowd was from outside of Wake County, and Visit Raleigh estimates that the game generated more than $12 million for the local economy in hotels, restaurants and bars.
