NORMAN Oklahoma redshirt senior pitcher Alex Storako has been named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for her performance last weekend in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, the conference announced the weekly awards on Tuesday.

Storako was exceptional at OU’s then-No. 1 at UCLA Sunday at Mary Nutter, overturning the Bruins’ perfect game and helping OU to a 14-0 run-rule victory. The college transfer gave up no runs or walks and only three hits in five strikeouts. Over the weekend, Storako collected two wins in three appearances and 10 innings in wins against UCLA and CSU-Fullerton, totaling 11 with no runs, one walk and six hits. Including one personal shutout, he also combined to blank Fullerton as a sophomore Jordy Bahl. Additionally, the right-handed pitcher got into a bases-loading jam against Loyola Marymount on Saturday and retired the side with a pair of strikeouts to end the game.

Storako is 4-0 in the circle in 2023 with a 0.34 ERA and 26 strikeouts.

The Sooners host the No. 17/16 Kentucky and UIC this weekend, 3-4. March, home opener at OU tournament in Norman.
