Michael Cohen appeared before the grand jury in Lower Manhattan 00:57
NEW YORK — Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s former personal attorney, testified Monday before a grand jury.
Cohen arrived in Lower Manhattan in the morning and is expected to return on Wednesday.
The Manhattan district attorney is investigating hush money paid during the 2016 presidential campaign to adult film star Stormy Daniels. Cohen said he helped Trump pay.
“It’s not revenge,” Cohen said. “I don’t want to see anyone, including Donald Trump accused, prosecuted, convicted, jailed just because I fundamentally disagree with them. This is about accountability. He needs to be held accountable for his dirty deeds.”

“There should be a healthy dose of revulsion from the bar, the legal community, prosecutors, defense attorneys alike. This is not what we’re doing. We’re twisting the laws to try to bag President Trump,” said Trump attorney Joseph Tacopina.
Trump was also subpoenaed, but the attorney now representing the former president said his client did not testify before the grand jury.
