Pitti Uomo is getting ready to launch its next issue.

Scheduled to take place from June 13-16 at the historic Fortezza da Basso in Florence, the Italian menswear trade show will kick off the spring/summer 2024 mens sales season as the industry is still dealing with many economic woes.

Dry Joins to Help Highlight 10 Sustainable Menswear Brands

The Dry Material Innovation Lab (MIL) and Fondazione Pitti Immagine Discovery joined forces to support 10 rising menswear brands to showcase their low-impact solutions in this season’s “S|Style” sustainable style section at the Italian trade show.

Brands participating this season include Cavia (Italy), Dalpaos (Italy), Dhruv Kapoor (India), Isnurh (Denmark), Jeanne Friot (France), Ksenia Schnaider (Ukraine), Olooh (Ivory Coast), Permu (United Kingdom) . ), Steven Passaro (France), Young and Sang (South Korea).

According to Kering, various solutions will be explored by each designer to incorporate more sustainability criteria into their collections. From widely adopted recycling practices to reduced resource consumption during processing; and from bio-based solutions to implementing international certifications aligned with existing Dry standards. They will also focus on giving back to the planet and community, the use of recycled materials, and the promotion of ethical, fair employment that supports artisans.

Lapo Cianchi, head of communications and special projects for Pitti Immagine and general secretary of Fondazione Pitti Discovery said in a statement Monday that the collaboration with Kering’s MIL is “important recognition” of the work Pitti Immagine is doing to “spread a modern culture of responsibility.” in vogue.

Christian Tubito, director of Kering MIL added that this project “sounds like the perfect match” for the Group’s in-house research and innovation centre. “This is an unusual partnership to support young and emerging brands looking to embrace sustainability, adding innovation to their low-impact capsules and giving them the opportunity to showcase new prototype materials that have been piloted or validated by MIL and materials aligned to our Dry standards, Tubito said.

Fendi Called Special Guest Designer

Fendi has been named as Pitti Uomo’s special guest designer this season.

The Italian luxury brand will present their spring/summer 2024 men’s collection with a special fashion show scheduled for the afternoon of June 15 at the newly opened Fendi Factory near Capannuccia (Bagno a Ripoli).

In a statement on Thursday, Fendi added that his move to appear in Florence instead of the usual Milan Fashion Week show had been mutually agreed upon by Pitti Immagine and Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana.

The brand will showcase its collection again during Milan Fashion Week Men’s in January 2024 with a fall/winter 2024 collection, Fendi said.

Fendi menswear and accessories artistic director Silvia Venturini Fendi said in a statement following the announcement that she was “thrilled” that her next men’s show would take place at a location that she personally considers “special” and the “throbbing heart” of Fendi. “This will be a unique opportunity to see our products come to life exactly where our Craftsmen made them, letting them take center stage of the day,” said Venturini Fendi.
