Men’s Tennis Doubles 7-0 to UNC Asheville

FARMVILLE, Va. While the weather has affected both Longwood’s men’s and women’s tennis schedules recently, the skies were clear for today’s men’s tennis singles match against UNC Asheville. The men fell 7-0 in today’s Big South contest.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN:

UNC Asheville (8-7) got off to a strong start against Longwood (5-11), taking the opening doubleheader. The Bulldogs picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 3 at the same time Yoav Weinberg and Luis Reis’ match no. 2 was abandoned.

The Bulldogs earned the win in the No. 1 spot when the game ended Guillermo Cagigas left the match during the second period. Timéo Puech battled at No. 2, but fell in three sets after grabbing the first.

The Bulldogs won a doubleheader for 3rd place Ernest Rocabert. Luis Reyes battled into the third set at No. 5, but in the end the Bulldogs won 7-0.

The Lancers head to Boiling Springs, NC on Tuesday, April 4th^th meeting against the Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs. The first match starts at 2 p.m
