Non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace Magic Eden announced on Thursday the rollout of a creator launch pad for Ordinals, helping creators successfully list their Bitcoin-based NFT collections.
While the company already has the infrastructure for creators to list and sell ordinals, the dashboard will help creators integrate the ecosystem to easily facilitate the creation of tokens on the Bitcoin network. The process of listing an ordinal NFT is very different from minting a digital asset on Ethereum, which is a barrier of entry for many creators who are unfamiliar with the intricacies of Taproot and listings. . This led Magic Eden to find a way to make the process easier for the growing ordinal collector market.
Zhuoxun Yin, COO and co-founder of Magic Eden, said in a press release that helping creators create ordinals will help develop a broader market for tokenized assets on Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is the granddaddy of all blockchains, and we believe it can house pure digital artifacts, Yin said. With Ordinals, content can be preserved forever, and we’re proud to help creators and the Ordinals community grow together.”
To kick off its launchpad, Magic Eden is partnering with Ethereum-based NFT Collection Godjira to release its Bitcoin-based (Dead) Jira Collection on April 7th. The company has also tapped creators Genopets, Lazy Lions, Humanoids, and rapper Lil Durk to hit Bitcoin Listings on the new platform by next week.
Excitement around ordinals has been building since January and Magic Eden is ready to embrace the growing listing market. Last month, Magic Eden released a Bitcoin NFT market, allowing collectors to buy ordinals on the secondary market, integrating support for two Bitcoin wallets.
Outside of the Bitcoin network, Magic Eden has been working to expand its offerings outside of Solana, the layer-1 blockchain that put the market on the map. Days after rolling out its Bitcoin NFT marketplace, Magic Eden created a Web3 Gaming Collective, bringing together leading funds and publishers of blockchain-based games to help drive adoption in the space. Earlier in March, it launched “Mint Madness”, allowing users to create free NFTs for more than a dozen Web3 games.
