Suddenly President Biden and those Democrats are trying to blame Donald Trump for when Biden pulled all troops out of Afghanistan. Why do they blame Trump? Guess what, Biden also stopped the Trump Wall by Mexico to stop illegal immigrants. They flooded the United States and suddenly Biden decides maybe Trump was right. It’s ridiculous. Can’t you leave this man alone? Why is he blamed for everything. I am 75 years old. I was going to be a democrat my whole life, but I can’t do it anymore.

To Tom in Burbank who claims the media is the enemy of the people in this country. I find it ironic that you call or email the Daily Southtown 24/7 with baseless conspiracy theories, right-wing propaganda and outlandish opinions, yet the Daily Southtown regularly publishes them for you in the Speak Up column. If they are the enemy, you must be in cahoots with them.

I read the article about the ban on assault weapons with sorrow in my heart, tears in my eyes and anger in my mind! Except in times and places of active war against the United States, no decent, sane human being should ever want to allow the use of horrible assault weapons in our cities! Why are we at war with each other, with our own people? Assault weapons were designed to be used against known enemies in other countries, not to take the lives of our innocent loved ones who have a right to live the life God gave them.

I agree with Bill de Plainfield on thriving marijuana retailers. The government has banned second-hand tobacco smoke for public health reasons. However, the geniuses of Springfield, including Pritzker, are silent on the deadly toxic effects of second-hand marijuana smoke on humans and animals. When will people stand up and say enough is enough? What about the right to breathe clean air? No one has the right to take that away from us.
