8 Great Seattle Area Bars to Watch the Kraken in the Playoffs

Some fans have to wait 21 years to root for their team in the playoffs. Others only have to wait two. That’s right, Kraken fans: April 17 marks the start of the Stanley Cup race. Wondering where to watch? Here are eight hockey friendly Seattle– sports bars in the area that take part in all the action.

32 Bar & Grill

Head to Northgates 32 Bar & Grill, located above the Kraken practice rink, to watch the game on one of 17 screens or one of the large screens located above the ice. The rink is open to the public for skating. Eight beers are on tap and there’s an upscale pub menu that includes the Big Rig burger (named after Jamie Oleksiak), which is $5 off during the Kraken’s playoffs.

Mustard seed Grill & Pub

Primarily known as a bar for Packer cheeseheads, this Newport Hills spot shows hockey playoff games on 24 TVs that fill the spacious dining room and bar. While there are no Kraken specialties, don’t miss the pressure fried chicken.

Buckleys for Queen Anne

Just a five-minute walk from the Climate Pledge Arena, Buckleys on Queen Anne is a great place to watch the Kraken games. There’s a pub-style atmosphere, an extensive menu, happy hour Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m., drinks under $6, and over 20 TVs to keep the action going.

Queen Anne Beer Hall

This 7,000-square-foot beer hall doesn’t have Kraken-related specials, you guessed it, Queen Anne, but the person I spoke with said that when 200-300 people show up for Kraken games, the party atmosphere overflows. replace lack of drink specialties. There are 25 beers on tap, about 10 big screens and a huge menu that includes everything from saucy burgers to Seattle dogs.

Angry beaver

A Seattle hockey bar since 2012, Greenwoods Angry Beaver is perhaps the loudest and most fun place to play the Kraken. But there’s plenty of Canadian beer and five different poutines on the menu, along with an air hockey table and projector screen for all the action.

Teddy’s Tavern

Vancouver Canucks fans have favored this Roosevelt location for years. In addition to nine televisions, there are billiards, table tennis and pinball to keep you occupied during commercial breaks. No drinks or food, but you can bring in outside food and even get pizza delivered to the bar.

Deception

This Fremont sports bar has tons of Midwestern specialties like cheese curds, party-cut pizzas, and wild rice soup. The bar has nine televisions and an outdoor seating area. No specific Kraken specials have been announced yet, but every Tuesday includes $3.50 tequila and $2.50 beef tacos, while Wednesdays are $1 wing day.

Fuel Sports Bar

Kids are welcome at this Ballard bar until 11pm daily. The indoor bar and outdoor terrace have 25 televisions and a projector. The menu is diverse and includes everything from mac and cheese and burgers to pizza and steak. The entire pot menu and drinking wine are also available.
