After the frenzy, a Metro reader found it wasn’t as sensational as they had hoped, showing how likely it is that young people have seen more nudity than that and if this is bad, what about pornography?

Mary Quant brings fun and freedom to young people

Iconic fashion designer Dame Mary Quant, who died aged 93 (Metro, Fri), was born to parents who hailed from a Welsh mining family during the bleak days before World War II.

He was evacuated during the Blitz, was educated and lived through the hard years after the war.

Mary decides to live her life the way she wants. In an interview in 2012, he was asked if he had ever been surprised by his success.

I really feel, oh my God, what a wonderful life you have, you are so lucky, said Mary. I thought to myself, you lucky lady, how can you have fun?

He didn’t let the gray world of his early years infect his spirit, and he brought fun and freedom to the youth of his time.

Thank you, Maria. We desperately need your open spirit in this fearful, materialistic, money-worshipping and self-worshipping world. Bring back the real fun.

Bad (Naked) education?

Naked Education explained by host Anna Richardson aims to promote body positivity and educate the nation.

Instead of being outraged, I was baffled by the salt-smelling hysterical reaction of some 1,000 people who objected to a 14-year-old seeing nudity to advance education. The human body is nothing to be ashamed of, and I think it is of educational value for children not to feel ashamed or worried about their own bodies. Great, Channel 4.

After watching Naked Education, it wasn’t sensational at all. Young adults, not children, are clearly uninformed about the average body type and also have problems with body image and a culture that encourages perfection.

I feel confident that the program, the realities of the body it exposes, and the sensible discussions that ensue help dispel some of the myths.

May I suggest that, instead of being angry at a program, those who are complaining should direct their anger at a society where children can easily access the pornography that leads to all these misunderstandings? All of the young adults reported viewing the pornography between the ages of 12 and 15.

Caring profession, poor salary

Vicki says by going on strike, they are showing they don’t care. This is offensive and also wrong.

Being in a caring profession doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be paid well. I am angry that colleagues are not being treated with the respect they deserve.
