CORTLAND, NY The Wesleyan women’s golf team opened its spring season by competing in The Martin and Wallace Invite at Cortland Country Club in Cortland, New York over the weekend. The Cardinals finished 7thth out of seven competing teams, finishing with a team score of 658 (+82). Williams took first place by shooting a 582 (+6), while Amherst finished secondn.d with a score of 585 (+9).
Kayla Howell ’26 led the Cardinals, shooting +12 on the weekend (77-79-156) and was the only Cardinal to shoot under 80 in either round. Howell finished t-18th in the personal leaderboard with a final score of 156 (+12).
Rosie Leonard ’26 (+19, 82-81-163) and Jacqueline Neishabouri ’25 (+20, 83-81-164) were flat cards, improving slightly from the first round to the second. Leonard finished 39thth in the leaderboard, with Neishabouri finishing right behind him in 40thth.
Mia Bardinelli ’26(+31, 93-82-175) and Milan Yorke ’25 (+33, 93-84-177) showed great improvement from the first round of the Martin and Wallace Invite to the second. Bardinelli’s 82 in the second round was 3rd best of the day for the Cardinals.
Wesleyan will be back on the course next weekend where they will compete in the Jack Leeman Invitational in South Hadley, Massachusetts.
